Denise Rushing

About Denise

Denise Rushing is proud to call Lake County home.  

She is a mechanical engineer, a successful businesswoman, and an ecological farmer in Upper Lake.

Born and raised in Northern California, Denise has lived and worked in rural areas throughout the North State. As founder and principal of Tactical Partners and an energy technology executive with eMeter Corporation, she also engages in energy technology management including launching new energy efficiency products and services.



Denise is an engineering graduate of Stanford University where she studied environmental sciences and alternative energy. She holds a Master's Degree in Humanities (Culture and Spirituality) from Holy Names University.

She has led a variety of energy efficiency businesses. Her business career as a leading energy-efficiency technology executive spans two decades and includes a number of technology start-ups: eMeter in Redwood City as the Vice President of Marketing, Sage Systems in Alameda as the Vice President of Business Development and CellNet Data Systems, in San Carlos: first as Director of Sales and later as the VP of Sales and Marketing. Up until 1996, she held a variety of leadership positions at PG&E in San Francisco, including Director of Energy Efficiency Programs and Manager of Clean Air Vehicle Programs.

Denise is a resident of Upper Lake, California where she cares for 11 acres of Walnuts and is implementing organic agriculture, permaculture and ecological living at her organic orchard and garden. She is the mother of two college students, a licensed private pilot and a registered engineer.   

Denise Rushing is a ardent supporter of civil rights and an advocate for those in our society whose voices are not heard.
